Welcome to Shelley's personal wiki.

(think "backstage")

I use this space to keep track of some of my "long thoughts" and ongoing projects. It's likely to seem pretty disjointed and graphically uninteresting. But far be it from me to pre-judge how useful my out loud learning might be to someone else, so feel free to poke around...

The big lessons:

2009 - The genius is in the conversation

2010 - Listen more

2011 - Ask better questions? Pull, not push?

June 2011:

Lunch w/ a friend whose new job includes a significant social media component.

Anticipating the wind-down of daily institutional tweets... maybe share our summer reading ala this site?

May 2011:

Hoping to lead a conversation re: "Information Overload" later this month. Inspired by Howard Rheingold, Lisa Thumann, Liz B. Davis, Harold Jarche:

Notes for my Dec. 12 "Wonderful Wikis" tech talk are here.

Mid-December: thinking about my Japanese New Year's postcard.  Might use a snowflake generator for the snowflake.

Early December, 2007: helping niece Super T seek out a poem worth memorizing.  Also working on a Draft of new front page for CollegeLists for the CollegeLists wiki.  Plus my Wish List.

Late November, 2007:

I'm thinking about how I might be able to inject some wiki power into my junior seminar course next semester.

I'll need to talk with the students, too, but one thing I'm thinking about is gathering information to support students going out on college visits, since that seems to be one of the areas in which they need help.  Not reviews of individual schools, but maybe purely logistical information.

Starting with a link to this interesting new Campus Visit search engine.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And also including a link to this socially responsible vocabulary booster!

In the meantime, I've put out a call to department heads at my school to help me identify the in-house talent that I'll want to tap into before giving my Wiki Tech Talk on Dec. 12, 2007.

Finally got the CollegeLists wiki an upgrade, graphically speaking.
