Barcamps in the US: http://barcamp.org/#USA
The NACAC blog is designed to accommodate the perspectives of professionals in the college counseling and admission fields. Bloggers primarily consist of any NACAC member with a desire to regularly comment on the state of their professional environment. Occasionally NACAC will feature non-members with a unique interpretation of current trends and issues.
The Admitted Blog welcomes all members to provide feedback in the comments section and invites anyone with a willingness to consistently contribute their insights on NACAC-related affairs to blog for us. NACAC staff members will moderate the site.
Those interested in blogging for NACAC should contact Sean Nyhan at snyhan@nacacnet.org (sent inquiry on 4-3-09)

SUMMER
NEACAC's Advanced Secondary School Counselor Summer Institute
ASSCSI will be held July 14-16, 2009 at the University of New England in Biddeford Maine. UNE is located on the coast of Maine between Kennebunkport and Portland, making it convenient to schedule a tour of New England colleges either before or after the institute. The theme of this year's institute is "Teaching Resiliency in the College Process." In addition, the faculty will be offering workshops on financial aid, the college essay, gap year programs, recommendation writing, the recruited athlete and more. An "Admission Trends Panel" will feature admission directors discussing what's happening in the world of college admission.
Mark your calendar! Fees are set at $350 for NEACAC members and $375 for non-members. Fees include accommodations and most meals (there is one "dinner on your own"). Registration is available at: https://www.neacac.org/pdo_si_adv_signup_opt.cfm
*Please note that in order to participate in ASSCSI you must have 5 years or more of experience.
